Bridges

What is a dental bridge?

A dental bridge (also known as a 'fixed partial denture' or 'pontic') is a restorative dental prosthesis used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. A dental bridge is a false tooth or teeth, fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth or teeth. A bridge can also be fitted to implants in more edentulous areas.

Fixed bridges are permanent and cannot be taken out of the mouth in the manner of removable partial dentures.
